Hours of Operation

The Legislature Building and the Visitor Centre reopened on August 1, 2020 with enhanced safety precautions. Tours and visits require preregistration. The Visitor Centre capacity is reduced in order to ensure that proper physical distancing can be observed at all times.

The Borealis Gallery and Pehonan Theatre are operational, along with Capital Gifts, the new Legislative Assembly of Alberta Gift Shop. The Agora Interpretive Centre remains closed at this time.

Please review the enhanced safety precautions as the health and safety of our Members, staff and visitors remains our top priority.

Summer Hours*

Wednesday to Sunday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

plus Monday, September 7

Winter Hours*

September 8 to May 16

Wednesday to Friday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday: Noon to 5 p.m.

Pehonan Theatre*

Summer Hours

Daily: First show at 10 a.m. and last show at 4:30 p.m.

Winter Hours

Wednesday to Friday: First show at 10 a.m. and last show at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday: First show at noon and last show at 4:30 p.m.

Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Good Friday

Alberta Teachers Institute


The Alberta Teachers Institute on Parliamentary Democracy will bring 30 teachers together to participate in an intensive professional development opportunity. Unique access will be provided to the Legislature site, where participants will further explore the traditions and roles of Alberta’s parliament and enjoy an opportunity to network with fellow educators from across the province.

The program is open to all teachers who currently teach or work within the field of education in kindergarten to Grade 12 and have an interest in a subject area related to citizenship, history, parliamentary democracy or social studies. The Legislative Assembly Office will cover all accommodation and most meal expenses for the duration of the program. Substitute teacher costs and travel expenses will not be covered.

To apply, submit a completed application form to the email address below. You will receive confirmation of the receipt of your application within 3 business days. If you do not receive a confirmation notice at that time, please contact Visitor Services.

Applications will be accepted until midnight, November 1st, 2020.
